Felt like I was watching slow pitch softball.  Manny's weren't cheap though. So who gives him the $300M?

Should have been a sweep.....

I'll take a 6-2 road trip though.

I think I figured out why Arrieta was not successful with the Orioles...

How insensitive was it for the PA people to play "Rock You Like a Hurricane" when Puerto Rican native Xavier Cedeno stepped in to pitch for the Rays last night?

I know you don't want to hear this, because you didn't want to hear it about Wieters, but the O's should trade Macahdo and Britton this offseason, and not wait until July.  They're worth so much more with that draft pick attached.

I don't think 'ol Pete would approve trading either of these guys.  And he might not live long enough to be there when the rebuilding comes to fruition.

Britton ruptured his Achilles heel and is non-tradeable for 6 months.  He also can't play baseball.

Cashner 2 years $16M.  That's a start.

I wonder if this means the O's are out of the Odorizzi sweepstakes then?

Anyhow, too much was made about Cashner not striking guys out any more.  He changed pitches because he changed ballparks (from pitcher friendly SD to hitter friendly TX) and it resulted in less fly balls and HRs, which was the point (not strikeouts).  I think the O's probably saved some money here for a pitcher who is already working on how to pitch in that park.

$16M plus incentives.  Wonder if he got a beard exemption from Buck.

Tillman resigned.  No surprise there, at least until the terms are released.

EDIT: One year, $3m guaranteed polus incentives.  Good for both parties.
