Ruby Tuesday and Sizzler - not fresh news, but i don't remember seeing them listed here.  this is important stuff.
I bet you ended up in a Ruby Ts at least once or twice in the 90-00s
I would believe you if you said you never stepped foot in a sizzler

I was going to say I've never been to either. But thinking about it, I think i went to a Ruby Tuesday a couple of times while in high school in the early 80's. It's possible my wife even worked at one in her long line of server jobs.

No Sizzlers though.

Doc Emrick, the voice of the NHL with an endless lexicon, is retiring

a legend.

edit: i really like this write-up: https://deadspin.com/doc-emrick-champion-of-vocabulary-with-an-infectious-p-1845414579
Doc is simultaneously the greatest announcer ever and walking gaff machine whose . . . we'll call it "interesting" vernacular detracts from the action on a nightly basis.

fair enough, i guess we'll agree to disagree on this one.  i loved the fact that he knew more verbs than just "to pass" and "to shoot".  i think his erudite banter elevated the game.  hockey isn't the most cerebral of sports so i appreciated his puck-based pseudo-poetry.

Not celebrity enough to warrant the other thread in my eyes....

It’s a tit for tat situation...

Conservative Twitter lost their minds over the fact that owner of The Blind Pig in the Biden ad was a wealthy investor

So progressive Twitter needs to get their knickers in a twist over the owner of the Strand

i'm seeing that he's written a resignation letter, and everyone expects him to be fired soon, but he hasn't yet officially been bellied-up, fired or retired
