Derailing the thread with this: best song that played while i drank coffee in Brooklyn - Thin Lizzy's Cowboy Song. Which The Hold Steady and Ted Leo covered earlier in the week in Brooklyn; and which, I had never heard, prior to this week.

Whole Foods, Dublin, OH:

The Smiths: How Soon is Now?

This was preceeded by Bill Ocean's Carribean Queen.

Weird segue.

how can you compare an artist who won Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for Caribbean Queen to some barely memorable band from Manchester that was around for only a few years an never amounted to anything

Honorable mention for Whole Foods: Me and Bobbie McGee. But it wasn't the preferred version.

1/6

Giant: The Grass Roots-Temptation Eyes
Whole Foods: Sharon Jones-not sure of song name. Also, I had to walk out without buying my bag of apples because every line was way too long except for the one where the old Indian lady is the cashier and she's really slow so nobody gets in her line. The 15 items or less express line was being clogged up by some shaved-side-hair-manbun-earring-shaggy-beard wearing douche with about 30 items.
