It would be like Florida 2000 on steroids w
So since the mid 2000s there has been a huge push (by the GOP no less) for mail in voting
Mail-in ballots are ingrained in Florida elections, accounting for roughly a third of the 8 million votes cast in the last two cycles,

meaning they are already used to it and only expect it to nearly double because of covid

I think definitely people who can vote in person should. Vote early if your state allows. Mail in as a last resort for many reasons.
or drop off your mail in vote at an early voting center!

When are they going to count your mail in vote?

If tons of people vote by mail and they can only start counting at voting close they may be overwhelmed..will they have way extra voting infrastructure for this election? I doubt it

If it’s close do you wAnt a situation like CA where millions of votes were being counted a week after?

Think of the optics...everyone on the east coast goes to bed and Trump is leading in FL, VA, PA, MI

The next day it starts narrowing..what do you think Trump does? He latches on to the I won but they stole it with voter fraud so I ain’t giving up the presidency

We already have issues with optics cause the rural areas report first...in FL Dade, Broward -the dem strong points- always report late...in VA Richmond always reports late etc...and I am talking here about them reporting in person voting results late..add to that late reporting of unusually high volume mail in voting and the optics could be terrible
This is definitely a “thing”

1.4 million mail in ballot requests in Pennsylvania

68% Democrats
26% Republicans

Let’s think about the implications...

Who had NBA strike on their 2020 bingo card...

And what’s going on in Kenosha is a national fucking disgrace... that police chief needs to fired, but sure as shit he’ll be spouting off on faux news soon enough

And I guarantee the kid that crossed state lines will soon be described as a misguided lone wolf, etc etc etc and he may or may not have been front row at a rally sorry that should be hate fest

Oh I’m off to post a picture of a Cake Box what was seen in Scotland

VA, NJ, VT, MN, WY, SD, IL and MI all start early voting between 9/18-24.

While I like it, almost seems too early.
What if Q drops the dime on the Biden baby farms being run by Hunter in October

Normally early voting by mail would be great..even preferable but these are not normal times

Couldn’t help but notice Sidehatch that you ignored my last two posts on this subject from August 25th

If I had a dollar for all the posts that were ignored ;)

I don't want to even promote the reasoning you propose.

Also, early voting is IN PERSON voting...you can also drop your mail-in ballot too
I don't know how states tabulate the early in-person voting, but I got to assume they don't wait until Nov 4th to do that

I think people should get out and vote, hopefully, ways that can be tracked too
If we have to wait, sobeit
We didn't know Bush v Gore until Dec 12th

will they have way extra voting infrastructure for this election?
This is on the states and I hope they figure this out.  Seems like they have not been making plans tho...

Trump is going to say voter fraud even if he wins, I'm really not sure what we can do about this

Sounds like you just want to be an ostrich
So encouraging people to vote early is being an ostrich?
I don't discount what you are saying, but unless you are offering solutions...

I guess your solution is that Democrats give up on this mail-in thing and go to the polls in droves on Nov 3rd

People that can vote in person should do so... it’s not that complicated!

Encouraging people to vote early by mail makes sense in some cases but you have bought into it lock  stock and barrel circumstances be damned

I mean I think you have too much faith in the system...if Trump has proven anything it’s that there is a first time for anything and giving him any opening to make a case for not relinquishing power seems kind of naive
