I know there has been a long-running argument that this is wasted money...but these seats are looking more gettable day by day

Iowa Democrat Theresa Greenfield raked in a record $28.7 million for her Senate bid in the third quarter of 2020

I don’t think the Iowa senate race is not winnable...

But she has plenty of $.... peoplejust tune out the ads after a while

What are you saying? She needs more?

Now Kentucky is not winnable
Texas is not
Mississippi is not

Julian's Senate-winnability rankings

Iowa: winnable.
Montana: where we should be sending money.
SC: winnable if we are in a "GA and TX go Biden" type landslide, which I do not think is the case.
Kentucky: setting money on goddamn fire.

Actually, was just happy to see a big campaign chest...as 12 months ago people would have laughed you out of the room if you thought a Dem could win an Iowa senate seat
KY...man would love it, but I agree
TX...I don't know if I'd totally count them out.  Beto really came within an inch...and there was a mile wide gap before.  Possibly not this election, but the demographics on TX are not in the GOP's favor

GA is looking possible that is somewhat amazing
I hope Lindsay loses too

Heard some interesting stuff on FL too...
Yes the new PR residents vote at like 10% even though almost a million of them moved to FL in the last few years.
I also think we are  going to get 100k felon votes too...that would have cost both scott and desantis their 2018 wins

I still never understood why coperations and small business don't back ACA or Medicare for all.

Heath insurance costs are insane for business AND individuals

The cost of job-based health insurance averaged more than $21,000 for families and almost $7,500 for individuals in 2020

I would gladly pay $10k more in taxes a year for healthcare for my family if I got a 10K raise...and the business would pocket $10k
Who the fuck would want 'employer paid heath care" if the option was to make more money and get covered under a M4A plan

I know personally, my company paid almost $20k to cover my family and we still had over $4k in out of pocket expenses

This always boggles the mind for me too. I have said, basically, this exact logic for 15 years. Removing employer health care costs would be the biggest boon to businesses in our lifetime.

It gets better as there is this

Breaking: The FBI thwarted what they described as a plot to violently overthrow the government and kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/michigan/2020/10/08/feds-thwart-militia-plot-kidnap-michigan-gov-gretchen-whitmer/5922301002

MI is of course where armed cosplaying morons are allowed to walk around the state capitol freely.. and our dear leader tweeted "Liberate Michigan"

and the problem is of course Detroit where unarmed protests occur

And Mike Lee at one point seemed like one of the smart ones....

It amazes me how many people- and not people who are threatened with starvation or ruin - are gladly willing to sell themselves out for $ and power... I mean it seems like pretty much anyone!

It’s obvious that in the US we have been doing something very wrong....for a long time...to have all these traitors

i'm convinced that the last of the baby boomers are hell bent on taking away from future generations all the benefits and advantages they had... they also want to destroy what small advancements we have made in terms of equality...

as much as i want to be gen x, i unfortunately still qualify as a baby boomer but will til my dying day identify as a baby buster,  so don't be blaming an baby boomer attitude stuff on me :)

PS: The Big Chill is a horrible movie...

PPS: the big chill is prime example of a bunch of yuppie baby boomers being self absorbed, etc  etc

here is your connected to the present day Michigan factoid

Attempt against #Whitmer is not w/o precedent. While visiting Marquette Prison in July 1950, Gov. G. Mennen Williams was attacked and briefly held hostage by a group of inmates in an escape attempt. Williams had a six-inch knife held to his throat. His attackers overpowered.
