fascinating factoid from CNN:

"(Trump) has sent 322 fund-raising emails since Election night - an average of 16 emails a day.  This is in large part about creating an empire where Donald Trump remains a dominant force in Republican politics, even after leaving the Oval Office in January."

the new "leadership PAC" that was spun up just recently is going to be his slush fund that enables him to continue being a playah (without having to spend his own money), and he'll be able to dole out cash to ensure that other GOP'ers will kiss the ring.  could also fund a 2024 run, should he make one.

Trump is a kingmaker in the GOP...the base is not following the GOP, they are leaving fox for fuck's sake
It is Team Trump for the future (hopefully he only lives 10 more years).  No one has the power over the base that he does
It is no longer about Policy, all personality...
He got 10 million new voters out in 2020

The question that remains is, will Mitch and the rest of the GOP kowtow to Trumps will when the only power he has left is the Tweet?
I think so as the base will take direct orders from Trump

I was thinking that his loss in 2016 was going to fracture the GOP in to two separate factions...but that didn't happen because he won
I'm thinking that he will start his own network and the MAGA party and the spineless GOP leadership will likely just follow him
but it will split that vote ...I know my skills at political prognostication are legendary (in my mind)

I'm still a little worried the Dems are going to fracture in to two parties too...

Pennsylvania has been certified

Governor Tom Wolf@GovernorTomWolf
@PAStateDept  certified the results of the November 3 election in Pennsylvania for president and vice president of the United States.
As required by federal law, I’ve signed the Certificate of Ascertainment for the slate of electors for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Is it me or does it seem like there has been a lot of winning...

true enough, the clash of the titans had a non-standard humanoid kraken.

however, traditionally the kraken has been a giant squid (or octopus): "The kraken (/ˈkrɑːkən/)[1] is a legendary sea monster of gigantic size and cephalopod-like appearance in Scandinavian folklore."

Wow it was closer than we thought

From wapo

here are the margins by which Biden won three critical states, as of Wednesday morning:
Arizona: 10,457
Georgia: 14,028
Wisconsin: 20,565
Total: 45,050

But if Trump had managed to get those 45,000 votes, he would have won 37 more electoral votes, making the electoral college a 269-to-269 tie. Under the Constitution, the election would have then been decided by the House of Representatives, with each state delegation getting just one vote. Even though Democrats have a majority in the House, more state delegations have Republican majorities. Trump would have been reelected.

Ok...here are the latest numbers on these three states and this argument that it was closer than we thought

Arizona: 10,457
Georgia: 12,670 (went down after recount)
Wisconsin: 20,565
Total: 43,692

if it had been 269-269 it would have been Trump...no questions asked

I'm still a little shocked this isn't a bigger story
Yes, of course, Biden got almost 6~ Million more votes, but that has nothing to do with the rules

Maybe it was just me, but on the daily Libs were like "trump won by only getting 77K votes in key states"  saying how bogus his election was.  Seems like the same argument will be used by the MAGA crowd.  Thankfully they don't seem to grasp math that well, so maybe they will just keep saying 'stop the steal'

Not that complicated

Very close in battleground states which Biden won by 0.1% or something overall

Couldn’t happen to a nicer 3 million dollars

https://twitter.com/briantylercohen/status/1332470971752534019?s=21

So the Trump campaign paid $3 million for a recount in Milwaukee and Madison. The Milwaukee recount just concluded... and Joe Biden’s lead *grew* by 132 votes, per @PostRoz.
