Unless the number of serious illnesses and/or deaths among the vaccinated swing wildly up,

Philadelphia becomes first major US city to reinstate its indoor mask mandate as cases rise

:(

Given that the current variants are notably less serious, the vaccine is available to everyone, people can choose not to fly on an airplane or attend an NBA game, and effective treatments are available, case rates don't matter.

But like I said, I don't have a problem with mask requirements (though if allowed to vote, I would vote to end them.) I do have a problem with requiring 24 hour testing of fully vaccinated peeople for return flights on international flights only...when no other country is doing this and when we're not doing it for domestic flights or any other domestic activities.

Yeah the requirement on fully vaccinated people getting tested 24 hours before flight is harsh

My 79 year old mom in Argentina- an American- will have to do that day of a flight leaving for US at 9 pm…seems harsh..I don’t want to get into all the complexities of this…but it’s a challenge

It’s just hard to have a discussion when people start throwing around charges of bribery ..or politicization of everything..it’s like we are arguing about three different things

I have zero problem with requiring masks on planes.

Finally got me.  A week after attending a 99% unmasked memorial service and 4 days after gettting the 2nd booster.  Feels like a chest cold mostly.  Had to miss yesterday's O's opener though.  :(

My kid came down with a sore throat and weak persistent cough Sunday into Monday. If it was COVID, she would have had to have gotten it at the gym or somewhere other than school because last week was Spring Break. Took a COVID test last night...negative.

Going to see my unvaxxed Mom solo this weekend. Guess I should test myself before going.

Get well soon!

Still debating when I will get that second booster. Was going to wait until Fall when there's likely to be a surge, but maybe a few weeks before international travel in July is optimal if they still have the testing rule in effect.

Anyway, get well soon!

Nobody wearing masks means more getting it

But I doubt most people know it or bother getting tested

I feel like covid now is just nowhere near as potent as two years ago

A bartender I know got it for first time St Patrick’s Day…he worked maskless on their busiest day…he had been a hardcore masker

He argues when Biden didn’t wear mask at state of the union it meant no need to wear masks (plus CDC)

I don’t get peoples massive aversion to wearing masks. I choose not to wear them sometimes indoors but on a plane seated an inch from a stranger?

XE is a hybrid of the two now-familiar strains of Omicron: BA.1 (the original Omicron strain) and BA.2 (the more infectious related strain that’s now dominant in the U.S. and other countries) https://t.co/viVzrUkvSu

Should the U.S. lift its entry test rule? 5 health experts weigh in.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/travel/2022/04/12/us-travel-testing-requirement-covid/

I love how one of the “health experts” they went to is the CEO of the testing company EMED. Jeez, wonder what she will say?

Guess I should posted my rant here… really looking forward to my flight to Detroit in a month, the mask mandate would have in theory been lifted by then but still… I’ll probably be the one wearing a mask

after having the COVIDWISE app for over a year
this week I finally got notice that I was possibly in contact with someone who reported postive

Obviously not many are using it or reporting as it seems nearly impossible that is the only exposure I've had with the Airports/concerts/living near a city

My wife got a message from that the night we went to Rasika West End and the Hamilton.

She did the tipping at Rasika.
