If you have existed as a band for 3+ decades, you really cannot call a random concert from 4 years ago "historic," unless one of your members literally died on stage mid-concert.

No one in 2050 is going to look back on the career of Pearl Jam and write about the 2016 Philly show.

stumbled across this dude who goes by the name Gwarsinio Hall and his youtube show "Two Minutes To Late Night."  it's a metal-focused talk show with the humorous interviews, album reviews, weather reports live from glen danzig's house, etc.  that's been running for a few years now, apparently it has something of a cult following in the underground metal scene.

back in january, he decided to start a series of "bedroom covers" videos in which artists would play covers but each collaborating remotely.  then the pandemic hit.  they've continued the series, with money collected being distributed to the artists and support staff that made the video possible.

Coheed and Cambria + Mastodon + Primus + Tool + Mutoid Man Cover RUSH’s “Anthem”
Rise Against + Converge + Ted Leo + Gouge Away cover The Replacement’s “Kids Don’t Follow”
Mastodon + Darkest Hour + Kvelertak + Baroness cover Ozzy Osbourne's "Over the Mountain"
Emma Ruth Rundle + Mastodon + YOB + Old Man Gloom cover Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill"
Volumes + Havok + Vio-Lence + Potion+ Converge cover Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell"

TONIGHT:  Friday the 16th of October, tune in for a rare stream of Them Crooked Vultures full 2010 performance at Royal Albert Hall in support of Teenage Cancer Trust. Watch here: https://youtu.be/s7M21FwUzXA- appears to start at 5:00 pm Eastern.  i wonder if that's a one-time, must-watch live thing or if playback will be available for a while.

weird of all the Teenage Cancer Trust videos this appears to be the only not available for playback still... wonder if it's a regional thing.

I re-watched the Pulp set as it's really really good.. audience is going nuts for Common People and Disco 2000.  The Cure set is kinda men, probably good for the hardcore Cure fan.  I enjoyed The Who set as they performed some of the Tommy album and started out with Pictures of Lily which I found out  is based on an actress who had an affair with one of the sons of Prince Albert, which of course The Royal Albert is named after.  Kinda of cheeky move on the The Who's part...  Weller's set is good and he brings out the Stereophonics singer and Ronne Woods for Ooh La La

I stumbled on his interview with Carcass. He was doing Rorschach tests with them if I recall correctly?

The Ringer has just subcontracted me to write a 10,000 word oral history of the 2016 Wells Fargo Arena Pearl Jam concert. Hang tight.

I used to own the entire 2000 North America Pearl Jam official bootleg series

I found them at a library sale...all sealed...weird find

Just not a band that changes it up enough to warrant this kind of listening

This is possibly the weirdest thing ever. Like, if I'm remembering correctly, wasn't it like $15/show and there's like 40 in a tour? (EDIT: Jesus, I just looked: 47!) Who laid out $600 for Pearl Jam bootlegs and never opened them?

And yeah, if you've seen PJ once, you've seen every show they've ever played. Although I'm sure such "slander" is enough to rise Kosmo from the grave he's been in all day since he was so unceremoniously murdered.
