And an ep that sells 100,000 is really a 50K seller?

Actually, I believe so. Also, there are different sales levels for boxsets, I believe. [/b]

i dont think so.  i believe the sales levels are the same. and each unit in the box set does count as one unit towards certification.

so yes, if you had a 10 disc box set and sold 100,000 copies, you would have a platinum box set.

*sigh*

an EP is an ep, as long as its 30 minutes or something, 500,000 copies takes it gold. and it has to have between 3-6 songs.

What if Interpol plays a 40 min set? Does that count as a half-show?

What if you review a Broken Social Scene show but you never attended it? Does that count as no review?

if you had one 5-disc box set that was selling 3,500 copies (sets) a week, and you had a double-disc greatest hits that was selling 5,000 copies a week.

now, if they were released on the same day. how many days sooner would the box set go platinum?

Yeah, you'd never survive that damn rule we have that our reviewers have to listen to the albums before writing their reviews. We're sellouts like that, I guess.

Or the second rule, to have reviewers so young that they consider Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer to be the most amazing bands ever to grace the earth.

I refuse to give serious consideration to insults against my musical tastes from a known Old 97's fan.

 (Weezer? Huh?)

Taken as a whole I agree, however, I could make one hell of an album if I were allowed to make "Mellon Collie" a one disc album instead the two disc bloated egotistical mess that Billy made it.
