 Also, the quirky lyrics -- accentuated by Darnielle's shrill tone -- are nearly laughable, but the problem is, I'm not sure I should be laughing. On "Broom People," when the singer proclaims, "I am a babbling brook!" I find it difficult to regard the line as a powerful metaphor, but rather consider it to be really lame.

You know, we had someone complain about a review a week ago, and they went about it the most bizarre way I'd ever seen; they posted on bigyawn's message board, then sent the reviewer an email with the link to it. I don't know what their problem was - flaunting society's conventions like that.

I didn't see it, but from reviews I've read of other shows on the tour, you can pretty much just play the album and you can say you've experienced the show. They have no other material apparently.

I think I recall him selling his old place (the purple Victorian by Wrigley Field) for well over 4 million, so I doubt unless he's a complete idiot he has alot left on his mortgage for the new place.

BILLY CORGAN Storms Off Stage After Audience Yells For SMASHING PUMPKINS Songs - July 27, 2005
 
 Australia's Undercover News is reporting that former SMASHING PUMPKINS frontman Billy Corgan threw a fit during his performance in Melbourne and stormed off stage after the audience yelled for SMASHING PUMPKINS songs.
 
 One fan who who was at the show told Undecover News that at one stage when an audience member yelled "play some PUMPKINS," Corgan snapped back "Can I live my life for today?"
 
 At another time, someone yelled, "We want rock", and Corgan told him to ask for his money back, the fan said.
 
 Towards the end of the show, after another call for more "PUMPKINS," Corgan is said to have said "Fuck this," put his mic down and walked off.
 
 Corgan plays Sydney Wednesday night (July 27) and finishes his Australian tour Friday night in Brisbane.
