I hope he finishes it before I die!!  I've heard rumors that he completed all his research and is writing Vol 2 and 3 together. He is a prolific researcher.  I hope that rumour is true and Vol 3 follows 2 a little quickly.

On a not completely unrelated note, I have finished the Lucinda book and moved on to this one:

Over halfway through and it's an entertaining read.

It made be remember that I first heard Mudhoney back in 1989, and I figured they were going to be huge. So I went to my local record store and saw that they had some 45's from Sub Pop. In the pile, there was some from a band I *hadn't* heard of, called Nirvana. But at any rate, I was certain that Mudhoney was the far superior band who was going to be huge...so I bought the Muhoney 45. Which I still have.

Honestly I prefer them to Nirvana.

Finishing the Azerrad book was tough..the last 100-150 pages are all about Courtney and Kurt and heroin and Kurt contradicts himself on just about everything every page. One thing he doesn’t contradict himself on is his feeling that Dave and Chris were parsley and he was 100% Nirvana. It’s still shocking how negatively he speaks about them…. The book ends as they have just put out In Utero and Kurt and Courtney have stopped using. Towards the end is a great chapter about its recording with Albini. Honestly Azerrad comes off as simply a conduit for Kurt and Courtney to get their version of things out. A very mediocre book. Doesn’t help that Kurt is so unlikeable.
