Sweet. I'm more inclined to go to AWK now.

Has anyone else seen that super awkward Ian/Kevin Shields interview on vice.tv? It was right after it was announced that MBV were finishing up the follow-up to Loveless.
Parts of that were excruciating.

I haven't seen it, but is it more awkward than the NPR/Sigur Ros interview?

;)

In case anyone hasn't seen the Sigur Ros interview:

"I am truly sorry for any inconvenience experienced by those who already purchased tickets for the D.C. and Toronto shows. I sincerely hope you're able to attend at the new venues.
A couple days ago I had a really intense personal experience and it made it very clear to me that I cannot and should not play in religious buildings on this tour. Please understand, I have nothing against religion or temples of any kind. In fact, I love going to churches and hearing music there - but I can't play my music there after what happened the day before yesterday.
The best I can do to describe my experience, is to say that the world opened up to me, and I received it, as Spirit and Love and of course, a lot of fun and pleasure. It was a sexual feeling, and I just didn't feel right about bringing that into a holy place, like a church or synagogue. My choice to move the venues is out of respect for this feeling, for myself and my body, and for the buildings themselves.
Fortunately, even though this was all last minute, we were able to keep the tour more or less intact, and will still play every city or region, as planned. Once again, I'm really sorry for any trouble this causes, but it was something I felt very strongly about. Thank you always for your love and belief in the feelings I work to bring you." - Andrew W.K.

I'm not completely sure why but I imagine the members of Sigur Ros to be very timid (haven't watched the interview yet).

My week:

Monday - I was originally planning to go to the Lebowski Fest at the 9:30 Club... until I realized that it mostly overlapped with my Japanese class.  As it turned out, I was so exhausted from reporting to work at 8 a.m. for my new day job that I could barely make it through class.

(Did anyone here go to Lebowski Fest?  If so, how was it?)

Tuesday - I DJ'd at the Kinky/Nayas show at the 9:30 Club.  (Will post set list sometime soon.)

Friday - Probably going to Moneytown at Dahlak.  Guest DJs include DJs from Fatback and other events.

Saturday - I'm doing the opening set for Daz-I-Kue (of Bugz in the Attic fame) at Eighteenth Street Lounge.

Sunday - D.C. Record Fair earlier in the day, then the Bajofondo show at the 9:30 Club.

I went to that Kinky show. God the club is frigid when it's nearly empty. Good high energy show, though.

Thought about Lebowski fest but laziness got the best of me. A few staffers I asked about it yesterday said it was fun. Almost like a Rocky Horror kind of scene with people yelling out lines from the movie, old dudes dressed in robes and others as different characters from the movie and everyone drinking White Russians.
