The memory is growing dim, but isn't the light show Nik Turner tours with a really psychedelic affair?  

absolutely. i booked nik turner at the warehouse on 9/30, so you don't have to go to baltimore if you want to see him. he was amazing last year. if you're a hawkwind fan (or a fan of space rock and psychedelia in general), this show is not to be missed. note: i am biased, as hawkwind have been one of my favorite bands since i was 16.

 Wow there's a lot of  hype over this band (not quite as much as NY brethren Fiery Furnaces who are apparently the second coming, but close).  And I noticed that Kosmo Radio played a song, though I had just missed it.
 
 DC is the first show of a short US tour, but mid-European tour.

You're right, RC. It's actually Robbie Fulks that's on Monday. At least their Monday shows start earlier, and Monday's are half price wine night at Iota.

 Saw them at a free show at a Tower Records in New York last Friday.  I thought they were pretty good, even though I don't ususally go in for that 70's glam rock.  Definitely worth checking out.
