With how hyped (and surprisingly good) their new album is, I really don't see the Foos' DC stop being Freefest.

Got Haggis?

LOL at Pavement and LCD Soundsystem being big bands.  Foo Fighters play arenas.  Most people don't know who Pavement is and LCD played clubs.

LCD sold out Madison Square Garden and the Hollywood Bowl on their last tour... those places arent clubs.

and while Pavement may not be as "popular" as others, they've still gotten very high billing at the places they've played.

Not saying they're as big as the Foos, but they're not as small as put out to be.

If the Foo Fighters are booked for this year's FreeFest it will be like the first Freefest with the majority wanting to be at the mainstage all day. At last year's one could easily move between stages and at least get in the pavilion or pit, unlike the first year.

And if the Foo's do headline, lets hope that Seth books a second stage headliner that actually writes good songs and not just riff-o-matic music with LOL lyrics.  "Give me some rope I'm coming loose, I'm hanging on you"

Yeah on their farewell tour.  Would they have been playing MSG had it not been their last show ever?  Of course not, they would have been in a club.

i haven't taken the time to listen to the new album, and i have a soft spot for the foos, but that's a spot-on description of them ;D

Lineup was announced July 20 last year.

Shouldn't we be hearing lineup announcements soonish?

foos are too big for freefest
Didn't they just play 930 like 3 or 4 years ago? After playing the Patriot Center? This is Dave's home, I don'
t think him and the Foos would pass up headlining a festival in their hometown area....

Dave is from Springfield. Why would he want anything to do with Maryland?   ;D

i meant to post a similar thought.  dave played the club's 30th anniversary party, a gig that is certainly below his average.  he and seth are friends.  i could totally see dave doing seth a favor and playing his festival.

indeed, one thing that has been nice has been the fact that there haven't been any mega-headliners in a while, with the exception of blink-182 but the second stage made up for that.  the foos would definitely change the dynamics.

last 3 times i've seen dave/the foos:
- foo fighters acoustic, 4th row
- launch party for "echoes...", irving plaza NYC, from about 15 feet away
- 930 club's anniversary party, from about 20 feet away

i don't think i can see them from the lawn of a shed...

foos are too big for the organizers...its not that they would not play...we all know dave will play garages for pete's sake! and fyi the garage for dc area was in md...

but if you had the foos at a FREE festival with two stages and multiple acts it would create a big headache from a logistical standpoint....and it would turn into a foo fighers show overshadowing everything else....just dont see it

btw pavement- much as i like them- played to a half empty pit and 80% empty pavillion

the closest to a ff level act was weezer not blink 182...
