That’s stupid... if we cannot protect our congress from terrorists what the fuck are we doing? We spend hundreds of billions a year on defense and can’t even protect our own government?

WASHINGTON (AP) — Capitol Police ask that National Guard remain at Capitol for 2 more months, reflecting continued security concerns

Also, is Trump president again, wasn't sure of the chain of command at this point?

a slightly different take:

"Several people familiar with the investigation identified the driver as Noah Green, who shared an apartment with his brother in Virginia. The brother said that Green, who was in his 20s, struggled with drug use and paranoia and that his family worried about his mental state.

Green was not known to either D.C. or Capitol police, according to authorities. “It does not appear to be terrorism-related,” acting D.C. police chief Robert J. Contee III told reporters."

Is this really any kind of defense?

I am a fan of abolishing the Filibuster so we can get voting rights acts laws passed..and really even that has me a little squirmish as the new congressional maps may really hurt dems, so we might need this power to stop the GOP in the future

I feel like we really don't need it for the 1/6 investigations.  It'd be great if we got the GOP on board, but they are clearly showing they will never be

but ultimately what is really stopping Dems from doing a televised Benghazi type committee hearings
nothing, so let's just let them kill it in the Senate, so we can say they looked the other way when there was an insurrection

I guess the one problem is, Team trump perfected the art of ignoring a congressional subpoena
But we need to get all the facts on record and all the evidence laid out
