By filibuster obviously I am thinking of the needing 60 votes to override the filibuster not so much the idea of a person talking forever to prevent business from being conducted.. In the US the problem is the filibuster isn’t so much a filibuster as a permanent hold... it’s actually worse than a traditional filibuster
If in the present political context we require a party to have control of the White House, House of Representatives and 60 senators then governing becomes very difficult
some may say that it’s a positive that the filibuster prevents government from doing or changing much but I think it paralyzes government
I like the parliamentary approach... when a party is in power they get to govern...
Currently the filibuster just protects the minority at the expense of the majority and it’s just not working
