this is the downside for giving out the set times in advance...

and the line for people already with a ticket was brutal (usually it's the will call line that is long, but no one was even on that)

(yes this is hyperbole, compared to lines at the anthem...but was still a little shocked at 9PM there was a line to the alleyway to get in)

Big Thief were riveting.
that was an AWESOME show.  There is just something about her that I love and will keep coming back to see them live
Buck Meek was also outstanding on guitar and whispered backup vocal
I want to say the last time I saw them at the Cat (with Dacus split bill) Buck wasn't playing and IMO a huge loss.  So was very glad that he was there

There were a few guitar heavy jams that I wasn't expecting for some reason.  There were a few moments that it sounded like MBV
that intro to Shark Smile was fantastic
Best audience banter was when she said  "I never really go all out on the guitar jams, I just feel odd getting out in front and acting like a guitar god.  I need to come up and put my foot on the monitor and do one of those guitar jamming poses"(paraphrased)

Was packed, but got a good spot by Food Food (just beyond the glow) and the line for people already with a ticket was brutal (usually it's the will call line that is long, but no one was even on that)

Ah, was looking around for you. Mustve walked right past you.

Made my first trip to the MGM Grand Theatre this weekend.

I have to say, I was impressed with the venue and it probably could've been a great contender for the level above the club bookings if they didn't focus on has beens and bookings where you can charge $300 a ticket. Really not a bad seat in the house, great sound, no lines... I'd definitely go back for the right show.

However, just being in a casino atmosphere is a big turn off. The clientele of white trash, PG county riff raff, crazy rich Asians, and tourists is about as bad as it gets in terms of general population just walking around.

Casinos rank just below shopping malls in terms of that vapid, dead inside feeling.

I will never ever go back to that place ever. Even though that theater is nice.

Ha! No, it's because they sell 32 oz liquor drinks there and everyone was so trashed at the show that I almost punched someone in the face...

If you're one of those people who turns violent when they overindulge in alcohol, perhaps it's time to consider abstaining from alcohol?

No, I was not drunk, the girls in front of us were, and they were literally 2 of the most awful humans I've ever encountered at a show. They were absolutely awful. The guy next to us called them white trash. They were the ones drinking 32oz long island ice teas.

Trashy. Who still drinks Long Islands when Taylor Swift Teas exist?
