What is the opposite of dialing it in?

dialing it in: making small changes to improve precision, making incremental enhancements, etc.
possible antonyms: guesstimating, approximating, painting with a wide brush

PHONING it in: doing the bare minimum, being physically present but little more, putting no effort in, etc.
possible antonyms: going all out, giving it your all, putting your heart & soul into it
opps, you are correct, I meant Phoning it in

Nary a word from anyone that there was also an Elvis Costello show in town last night as well.

I heard the Iggy show sold far less than capacity. Truth?

I caught Lene Lovich in Annapolis last night. Even more fun than I expected.  She sounded great, can still hit those high notes, and seemed to be having a great time. Surprise appearance by Thomas Dolby, who introduced her as "my former boss" and sat-in on "New Toy". Great - albeit quick night.

I could get used to shows being over by 9:00 though.

Addison Rae show had a striking Space Thrift Denominator (STD) with about 60 minutes of actual performance and no opener.

I loved Iggy Pop but slightly soured by my “friends” leaving without me. It took me a couple of minutes to get setlist and they left. Didn’t even wait for me outside. One of them once outside subsequently texted me asking for a ride if I was still around.

Is this kind of a shitty thing to do or am I being overly dramatic?

That’s a shitty thing. You are correct to feel the way you do.

Thats even worse than the first thing! What if you were waiting around thinking he needed the requested ride!?

Ask yourself:

What would Iggy Pop circa 1973 do in this situation?  Dont do that.

What would Iggy Pop today do in this situation? Do that.

Why I like to be a lone ranger or go with my wife.  I find going to shows with others usually a pain in the ass*

Yeah WTF. Never would have bailed on him if foot was on other shoe. It’s true I met them at show but I did text him set times to help his planning. We met before Iggy went on and hung out.

I don’t know what to say…

Is it obvious cause am not sure what he would do….

I like to think I am reasonable.

I go to a shitload of shows by myself. But this friend I have gone to hundreds of shows over the years.

Guess I will keep it in mind.

If anyone in the Julian Concert Club behaves this way, you’re out of at least the next concert in the series. This is not how I expect my concert bros to be.
